ABOUT
4A’s will hold our second ReSolve event at our flagship conference Transformation in Los Angeles on April 3 – 5, 2017.
Designed to engage and inspire, ReSolve is a one-day think tank that brings together young professionals to solve a real-world problem.
This year, teams will tackle one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) commissioned by the United Nations.
This is a great opportunity for agency talent:
With two to six years of experience;
Who work in any discipline (account, creative, planning, media, data, etc.);
Who have a strong interest in helping others.
MISSION
DEVELOP AN IDEA, PROGRAM, INVENTION OR CAMPAIGN TO SAVE THE OCEANS, SEAS AND MARINE LIFE.
We will target SDG 14: Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources. The world’s oceans – their temperature, chemistry, currents and life – drive global systems that make the Earth habitable for humankind.
Our rainwater, drinking water, weather, climate, coastlines, much of our food, and even the oxygen in the air we breathe, are all ultimately provided and regulated by the sea. Throughout history, oceans and seas have been vital conduits for trade and transportation.
Careful management of this essential global resource is a key feature of a sustainable future.
THE PRIZE
PRESENTING YOUR IDEA AT THE OCEAN CONFERENCE BEING HELD AT THE UN’S HEADQUARTERS IN NYC – JUNE 5 TO 9, 2017
The high-level United Nations Conference to Support the Implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 14: Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development will be convened at United Nations Headquarters in New York from 5 to 9 June 2017, coinciding with World Oceans Day, to support the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 14. The Governments of Fiji and Sweden have the co-hosting responsibilities of the Conference.
The Conference aims to be the game changer that will reverse the decline in the health of our ocean for people, planet and prosperity. It will be solutions-focused with engagement from all.
SCHEDULE
Monday, April 3
ReSolve participants will have an opportunity to enjoy the 4A’s Transformation general sessions.

Tuesday, April 4
Teams will be briefed on a specific assignment for tackling SDG 14.
Then they will split off to spend the day brainstorming solutions and/or campaigns.
Location: Sheraton Grand Los Angeles, Los Angeles
Wednesday, April 5
During a 90-minute session on the main stage, teams will present their ideas to a distinguished panel of judges and Transformation attendees.
A winning idea will then be chosen.
